Port St Lucie

Port St Lucie in 1961 had about 250 homes.  With the exception of a centralized area of the town called River Park, Port St Lucie incorporated and became a city in 1961.

In the early 1990's planning began on what would become St. Lucie West.  Proposed development had in store for the construction of 14,000 homes over a 20 year period.  Commercial and other entertainment and business facilities sprouted up, lining the boulevard with great shopping and restaurants, accounting for some 7,000 jobs in the new upcoming area.  This helped to encourage it's boom into the early 2000's.

In 2006 the development of Tradition began.  Located just west of I-95 at the Gatlin Blvd intersection, Tradition was proposed to contain around 13 million square feet of commercial area, and room for over 18,000 residences.  Designed with a 1950's-era feel, Tradition's Town Center holds festivals and activities year around.  Along with shopping, great restaurants, and a brand new hospital, Tradition does not lack in offerings for the prospective resident.

Port St Lucie is also the home of Tradition Field, or Mets Stadium, which is the home to the New York Mets spring training.  The St. Lucie Mets (a Class A team) and the rookie league team Gulf Coast Mets also utilize the facility.  The games are a great source of entertainment for the whole family.  Port St Lucie offers a vast array of single family housing, at an affordable price.  Port St Lucie's abundance of single family residences at competitive prices attract commuters, locals and retirees alike.  Its close proximity to the beaches and other activities, combined with its affordability makes the real estate here a prime target for many.
